È stata una giornata intensa quella della Commissione Pari Opportunità di Bagnara, in questo 8 marzo che celebra le donne di tutto il mondo, e quale modo migliore per celebrarle se non grazie all’operato di queste donne che si sono prodigate per regalare a Bagnara la prima giornata di commemorazione, ma anche di ricordo di alcune tra le donne che hanno reso grande questo paese.
“Una mimosa per te” è stata una manifestazione ricca di significato, ma anche di commozione. Alla presenza di una sala consiliare gremitissima come neanche durante i recenti consigli comunali, si è svolta la cerimonia di premiazione postuma per cinque grandi personalità di Bagnara: Carmela Cardone, le insegnanti Memè Triulcio, Vincenza Corigliano e Paulette De Leo, e la dottoressa Domenica Occhiuto, tutte prematuramente scomparse, ma tutte vive nella memoria di ogni bagnarese che le abbia conosciute, il tutto alla presenza delle autorità, con il Sindaco Cesare Zappia e il Vicesindaco e fautore della nascita della Commissione P.O., Giuseppe Spoleti, che hanno rivolto dei sentitissimi saluti iniziali.
“Pochi giorni fa già (4 marzo, n.d.r.) si era svolta un’altra manifestazione, a mio avviso altrettanto importante perché coinvolgeva direttamente i giovani, ossia la premiazione del concorso Donne allo specchio” ha esordito il primo cittadino, aprendo la manifestazione “Ma per l’incontro di oggi dobbiamo solo dire grazie alle donne della Commissione Pari Opportunità che ci stanno consentendo di riflettere su temi di importantissima valenza sociale del nostro paese”.
La consegna dei riconoscimenti, officiata dalla presidentessa Silvana Ruggiero ai parenti, ha vissuto di intensi momenti di commozione, a testimonianza di come il ricordo di queste donne sia tutt’ora presente a Bagnara.
“È stata una giornata intensa la nostra” ha esordito Silvana Ruggiero “Iniziata con la consegna simbolica della mimosa alla statua della Bagnarota, un simbolo per tutte le donne di Bagnara, proseguita al Consiglio Regionale di Reggio Calabria dove eravamo ospiti e infine qui. Volevamo far si che l’8 marzo diventasse una data di celebrazione simbolica delle donne che hanno reso grande questo paese”.
Nel corso della manifestazione, introdotta da Miriam Minutolo, è intervenuta anche la scrittrice 22enne Domenica Cosoleto, autrice del romanzo psicologico “D’improvviso l’inverno” e della collezione di quadri “Pezzi di vetro”, esposti all’esterno della Sala Consiliare, a fornire la propria testimonianza in un giorno così ricco di significato.
La cerimonia di premiazione si è conclusa con il ringraziamento di Silvana Ruggiero alle altre componenti della commissione, Maria Carmela Tripodi, Anna Golotta, Miriam Minutolo, Vittoria Bellantoni e Carmela Cotroneo, per l’impegno di questi mesi per far sì che “Una mimosa per te” divenisse realtà.
